Recycling Depot Details

All Recyclables in One Container means no sorting, bagging or tying recyclables: place all material loose in the bin. Plastic bags are to be placed into one single bag and tied shut.  Shredded paper should be bagged and tied shut as well.

Paper Fiber Material – Do Not Bag or Tie

• Flattened corrugated cardboard and paperboard (i.e. empty cereal boxes, empty detergent boxes, empty tissue boxes) place loosely in the cart
• Newspapers, flyers, inserts, junk mail
• Magazines, catalogues, paperback books, hardcover books with covers and spine removed
• Telephone books
• Gift and packing paper (except aluminum or shiny paper)
• Brown paper bags, tissue roll cores, gift and packing paper, paper egg cartons
• Shredded paper – please bag

Clean and Rinsed – Do Not Bag or Tie

• Aluminum soft drink & beer cans
• Household tin cans (please rinse)
• Milk cartons and jugs (please rinse and remove caps)
• Juice cartons, boxes and aseptic containers (please rinse)
• Plastic soft drink and water bottles (please remove caps)
• Place plastic shopping bags inside another bag and tie: includes clean  plastic food wrap and clean plastic product wrap
• Household plastic containers and bottles must have the recycling  arrows with a number (1,2,4,5,7) on the bottom.  (A container with the  arrows but no number means the container is made from recycled materials, but may not be recyclable itself and cannot be accepted)
• No cups, dishes, ashtrays, window glass, mirrors, Pyrex, ceramics, light  bulbs or crystal

• any bagged material (excluding shredded paper).  This allows  material to be sorted later in the recycling process and reduces the cost of processing
• wax, food contaminated, or plastic coated cardboard, cups or paper plates
• soiled tissues, napkins and paper towels or food waste of any kind
• styrofoam or other foam packing
• household garbage, organic, hazardous or regulated waste
• medical waste or diapers
• hazardous material such as paint, chemicals or solvents
• ashes, dirt, concrete or other heavy materials
• construction material such as boards, roofing materials and carpet
• automotive parts, tires, oil filters or oil
• propane tanks, electrical cords, batteries
• clear plastic clam shell containers without recycling arrows and numbers 1 through 7
• plastic toys or Tupperware
• outdoor lawn furniture

Containers are located throughout your area.  If you have any questions about how to use the containers please contact our office.

• Close the lids after using .
• Only recyclables INSIDE the container will be collected: if you that material is outside the container please call our office.
• The Container has light plastic lids which are easy to lift and can be propped open for easy loading.

Please notify us if the container is vandalized

Containers are emptied every-other-week.

Recycling Bin Locations:

• In Napinka the bins will be located adjacent to the Napinka Drop In Centre
• In Medora the bins will be located on the empty lot to the east side of the Medora Community Centre * The current collection barrels at the Napinka/Medora Nuisance Grounds will remain.
• In Waskada, the bins will be located in front of the recycling depot on 1 st Street
• In Goodlands the bins will be on the east side of the Goodlands Community Hall

(located behind the green Recycling building)

Summer Hours: Tues. and Wed. 2-7 PM, Sat. 10 AM-3 PM
